What is a Will?
If you have a small estate (under $100,000) a Will Package may meet your needs without the addition of a trust. The will, included in the Will Package, includes direction on how you would like your assets to be distributed and who will be the guardians of any minor or special needs children in the event of your death as well as the appointment of a personal representative to carry out these wishes. The will will include an expression of your wishes for medical attention in case of incapacitation, as well as, a document that appoints an individual to act on your behalf in financial matters should you become incapacitated. While a trust provides greater flexibility and the opportunity to avoid probate entirely, for small estates, a will may be preferable.
